GOODNESS GRACIOUS GRIEF TALKING CIRCLES
A SOUL-LED SPACE FOR EMOTIONAL WITNESSING, REFLECTION, AND GENTLE CONNECTION
Grief often arrives quietly, through diagnosis, through change, through the tender edges of goodbye. The Goodness Gracious Grief Talking Circles offer a sacred space to meet that grief with compassion, curiosity, and community.
Held online or in person, this facilitated gathering invites individuals, families, and care communities to come together in a structured, non-therapeutic circle. It is not a space for fixing but for feeling. Through candlelight, guided mindfulness, and open rounds of sharing, including prompts from a Grief Deck, participants are gently supported to speak, listen, or simply be.
Each circle begins with a grounding practice and shared intention, honouring the presence of our emotions, experiences, and loved ones. Clear guidelines support emotional safety, deep listening, and respectful witnessing. Participants are invited to share at their own pace, with space for silence, tears, and reflection. A heart tap may be offered in place of words. The circle flows through three rounds of sharing, with a comfort break midway, and closes with a gentle check-in and the extinguishing of candles to mark the end.
Whether you are navigating anticipatory grief, remembering a loved one, or simply seeking a moment of connection, you are welcome.
This offering can be woven into end-of-life support, community wellbeing programmes, or seasonal remembrance events. It is especially suited to care homes, hospices, and families seeking a meaningful way to gather when presence is needed but words may be few.
Grief does not need fixing. It needs space. These circles offer just that, for families, carers, and communities alike.
